After two months long recess that followed the defection crisis that rocked the National Assembly late July, and postponement in September, the National Assembly has finally resumed plenary.
IGBERE TV correspondent at the National Assembly complex Abuja reports that The Senate resumed today with Executive session by 11.09am.
Meanwhile, some senators of the All Progressives Congress, APC, last night had an emergency meeting over the fate of Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy Ike Ekweremadu, IGBERE TV has learned.
The senators met at a location in Abuja to decide on how to go about the removal of the Senate leadership.
Although much details were not made available, IGBERE TV reports that the senators debated seriously on Saraki and Ekweremadu, with others arguing that the party was not fair to some of them.
Following his defecting from the ruling party to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, some APC senators have vowed to impeach Saraki as the Senate President.
IGBERE TV is monitoring situation at the sitting and will bring you updates as events unfold.
